2005 :Consummation of MARFIN
FINANCIAL GROUP HOLDINGS S.A.'s
share capital increase the issuance
of 25.000.000 new registered shares
by cash payment amounting to € 400
million. Agreement with major
shareholders of EGNATIA BANK S.A.
for the acquisition of a minority
stake.
2006 :During 2006, the Group
proceeded to a series of
acquisitions of domestic and foreign
organizations in the financial
sector. Furthermore the Company is a
subsidiary of MARFIN POPULAR BANK
PUBLIC CO LIMITED (hereinafter
“MARFIN POPULAR BANK”, former
“CYPRUS POPULAR BANK PUBLIC COMPANY
LTD”) as a result of the public
tender offer submitted by MARFIN
POPULAR BANK. The new Parent
Company, MARFIN POPULAR BANK, is
domiciled in Cyprus and its shares
are listed in the Athens Exchange
and the Cyprus Stock Exchange.
2007 : During 2007, after the
completion of the forthcoming
capital increase of 5,2 billion Euro
the participation of MARFIN
POPULAR BANK PUBLIC CO LIMITED
will be decreased substantially.
